AGM
CTV hosted its fourth Annual General Meeting on Saturday 14th November 2009. The meeting took place at the organisation’s traditional venue, Community House in Salt River, and it was attended by 58 organisations.
A number of policy issues were discussed at the AGM, including whether or not to allow the advertising or promotion of alcohol on the channel, problems facing the channel – including the threat of being taken off air by ICASA when digital cellphone broadcasting begins next year, the necessity to lobby government for funding and the proposed march on Parliament.
Fifteen new board members were elected and CTV’s previous chairperson, Martin Jansen, was re-elected to head the board. These elected representatives will remain in place for the next two years, until the next elective AGM in 2011.
