Training workshop programme

Cape Town TV is excited to announce the launch of our new workshop programme, designed and implemented to support organisations and filmmakers. In 2018, CTV finally achieved its long-term goal of establishing a training facility at our premises in Observatory. The space includes a large, equipped training room, resource centre, kitchen and bathroom as well as small training studio.

The space is being used primarily for a MICT Seta funded Learnership Programme which comes to an end in May 2019, with our workshops being held in the training facility and across the station. CTV has planned 36 workshops for 15 participants per workshop during the course of 2019.

The workshops will take place every Friday and range from a half to full day sessions, with exceptions taking place over a number of consecutive weeks. The workshops are highly interactive and geared towards active participation by the group toward specific production outcomes.

As training is not our core business, we have started and will continue to build up a database of freelance educators who will deliver the training and are committed to partnering with training institutions to avoid duplication and synergize efforts.

The following workshops will be offered in 2019:

NGO orientation workshops

The aim of this workshop is to induct new member organisations and familiarize them with CTVs membership benefits. We also do a broad overview on how NGOs and CBOs can use the media and audio-visual media, in particular, to enhance their efforts. The workshop is also open to organisations interested in becoming members of CTV community television collective.
